Paleo keto is not one standardised diet. Findings about a particular low-carbohydrate or ketogenic programme cannot automatically be transferred to every plan described as paleo keto.
Be cautious about big promises
There is no basis here for promising a particular amount of weight loss, reversing disease, or guaranteed energy and mental clarity. Healthdirect notes limited evidence supporting ketogenic diets for long-term weight loss. Your overall food intake, nutritional adequacy, circumstances and ability to maintain a pattern all matter.
Low carb and keto are not interchangeable
Diabetes UK distinguishes evidence about some lower-carbohydrate approaches from advice on ketogenic diets. Its ketone guidance does not recommend keto for treating diabetes and advises speaking to the diabetes team before considering it.
Understand the nutritional trade-offs
Restricting grains, pulses, dairy and some fruits can reduce food variety. Fibre and nutrient intake need attention. The BDA highlights uncertainty about longer-term low-carb safety, particularly when diets contain less fibre and more saturated fat or processed meat.
Get individual support
Talk to your healthcare team before major carbohydrate changes, especially with diabetes or medication. The BDA advises against ketogenic diets during pregnancy. This website is intended for adult education and should not be used to plan restrictive diets for children.
Our editorial position
We offer food education, not treatment. We separate meal inspiration from evidence and do not claim that a photograph or recipe guarantees ketosis. No independent clinical review has yet been completed.
